The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg LarssonMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
I read it in English although it is not my mother tongue. An old entrepreneur receives in his 83rd birthday a strange present, a framed pressed flower that reminds him that, forty years ago, his grandniece was killed, or at least he thinks so, because she disappeared forever. At the same time, a journalist is punished with three months in jail because he has committed libel. The third character is a young woman, Salander, with her piercing and tattoos. She is under the custody of a lawyer because of her mental state, but she is really brilliant and works as a researcher for a security company.
The businessman will meet with Bromkvist, the journalist, and offers him a very well paid job: to write the story of his family, the Vanger family, but, specially, to found out what happened to Harriet when she disappeared at the age of seventeen. Besides, he offers him the head of Vennerström, the entrepreneur responsible of the sentence against him.
The book is really entertaining and one reads it with pleasure, but it hasn’t got anything else. Anyway, it’s enough for an English summer reading.
